Our Therapeutic Approach
Clients often arrive asking for support with a wide variety of difficulties.
As we offer an alcohol free retreat, we often support those in recovery from alcohol, other substances and behavioural addictions. However we also support those who simply need to reconnect with themselves whilst accessing therapeutic support. We often work with anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss and even workplace burnout.
During your stay you will be assisted by qualified professionals who are dedicated and highly trained to support you in your recovery.
If you come to us with difficulties around addiction or substance misuse, you can expect to better understand your addiction. We will help you:
Learn new coping strategies
Overcome life's difficulties.
Understand how it all began.
Become the person you were always meant to be!
But if you need support with anything that isn't addiction related, we can help with that too!
Our therapeutic approach to counselling & psychotherapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing - all excellent therapeutic approaches when helping to overcome addiction of any kind, as well as the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress and burn out.
Our programme is primarily an individual approach, meaning you access therapy on a one-to-one basis with Ryan. However, there may be the opportunity to take part in group therapy, with another guest. Ask one of the team if you'd like to organise this.
As well as the one-to-one therapy sessions we also offer mindfulness at sunset, giving you the skills to reconnect not only with yourself but with the world, your feelings and bodily sensations.
Whilst we encourage our clients to take part in the wellbeing practices offered, they are not mandatory. You are in control and are free to decide which is best for you, and of course - whether you want to take part.
